Course syllabus

The module will be conducted for 4 hours per week. Normally, it will be separated into 2 lectures. After attending lecturers, students are to study by themselves for 8 hours per week. Self study time is assigned to complete coursework under supervision from a lecturer. Coursework includes oral and writing assignments to be done individually or in a group.

Initially, learners are introduced to the pronunciation, learn to imitate the sounds, and use basic grammatical structures. Learn to communicate through scripted dialogues in predetermined contexts and situations. Some of the situational contexts include:

• Personal introduction-Nationality and origins
• Location and direction
• Basic greetings
• Demands and requests
• Daily routine
• Moment
• Making appointments
• Solving language problems
